Photojournalism in Meramec's Library

How do students get an idea of what a photojournalist does? By going on a short field trip to Meramec's Library and shooting a series of photos documenting a visit to the library. A series of scenes were outlined and variations on those scenes were encouraged. Since this was the third week of classes, we emphasized the combined usage of the first two weeks assignments of White Balance adjustment and ISO adjustment with this week's assignment of Point of View and using wide angle and telephoto angles of view. The students were also encouraged to shoot at least 100 shots for their assignment and we will edit the final results in class.

Cold Candids

We went outside the classroom to capture candid portraits and to adjust ISO settings. The weather had cooled significantly and the students were happy to head back in to take a break.
